Tourist guides become the visible face of thousands of tourist companies, so each of our guides will behave according to the following rules:

1.- DO NOT USE MODISMS

Experienced guides know very well that idioms must be erased from the mind when generating a guided tour. These generate confusion among foreign tourists and sometimes give the impression of unprofessionalism to domestic tourists. Your vocabulary should be neutral and, if possible, without an accent.

2.- DO NOT TALK ABOUT POLICY

It is completely forbidden to talk about politics, because it is a very delicate subject that can generate conflicts among your tourists, ending everything in a very bad experience for them.

3.- DO NOT TALK ABOUT RELIGION

If politics is a complicated topic of conversation, forget about mentioning religion when it's not necessary. This is prohibited because it generates more than one exchange of words between the most fanatical of your group. A tourist will always appear offended by your words, so do not publicly indicate your religious inclination.

4.- NO SMOKING DURING THE GUIDANCE

Satisfaction surveys in tourism show that the comment that is repeated the most is that the guide does not smoke on the tour or does not smell of cigarettes. You must take care of yourself and be careful with the people in the group, not all people enjoy the smell of cigarettes, and that could lead to generating an immediate distance with the group. However, you cannot prohibit the group from smoking, but you can suggest that if someone wants to do so, they keep a safe distance and make sure to protect their mouth breath.

5.- DO NOT CRITICIZE THE TOURIST DESTINATION

There is nothing worse than a guide criticizing the place where you are doing the tour. If the guide has a bad impression: What is left for the tourists? Remember that every criticism you make is multiplied by the voice of tourists, so you are not only damaging the tourist destination, but you are also putting your work at risk.

6.- DO NOT USE THE CELL PHONE DURING THE GUIDANCE

Technology is part of us and it is difficult to get rid of the cell phone for a long period of time, however, for the guides it is an obligation. There is nothing more "shocking" for a tourist than in the middle of the story the cell phone rings to the person in charge of the guide. The key is to upload a status and indicate that you are working.

7.- DO NOT PRESENT YOURSELF WITH ALCOHOLIC HALIT

It is normal that we receive invitations to participate in meetings with friends, however, a tour guide is prohibited from drinking alcohol 24 hours before a tour. He should not drink alcohol in the middle of his work, even though it is offered to him by tourist providers or the tourists themselves. You must be with your senses one hundred percent, because you are responsible for the safety of each of the tourists.

8.- DO NOT LOSE YOUR PATIENCE WITH A TOURIST

Sometimes we meet complicated tourists. Among the most complex are the grumpy ones, the know-it-alls, the practical jokes and those who were forced to go, but whatever type of tourist you are uncomfortable you should never lose your patience. He counts to 10, but to 20 or whatever it takes before opening your mouth.

9.- NOT FORCING TOURISTS TO TIP

Many guides wait for the end of the guide to launch the phrase: "If my work was to your liking, you can thank me with a tip." That should flow, you should not take the first step, but some tourists will feel that you are forcing them and forget how good they had it. If your work is good, they will take the initiative.
